Aransas Pass, TX – Christopher Borden Killed in Fatal Pedestrian Crash

Aransas Pass, TX (July 26, 2020) – A fatal bicycle crash took place in Aransas Pass this past Friday that took the life of Christopher Borden.

The collision took place at approximately 2:30 p.m. on Friday, July 24 in the 100 block of West Goodnight Avenue just before Commercial Street.

According to Aransas Pass Police, Borden was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident by medical professionals. He was fatally struck while walking on the sidewalk by a white Chevrolet truck that was headed east on Goonight Avenue. For unknown reasons, the truck veered off of the roadway and onto the sidewalk, fatally striking Christopher Borden, who was traveling west by foot with his bike and several belongings.

The truck driver, 31-year-old Heather R. Dean was arrested and convicted of manslaughter for causing the death of Christopher Borden. Her truck, at the time of the collision, was also occupied by two other unidentified males.

No further details or factors of the crash have currently been released.

A police investigation into the circumstances of the collision will continue.
