Corpus Christi, TX – 8 Kids Hurt in School Bus Crash on TX-359 at Cty Rd 1038

Corpus Christi, TX (February 6, 2021) – Numerous children sustained injuries after a car and the school bus they were riding in were involved in a collision. The incident occurred on the morning of Wednesday, February 3. 

Authorities and paramedics were dispatched to the scene of the crash that occurred on TX-359 and County Road 1038 south of Mathis. Sources show that the bus driver was headed south on TX-359 when they attempted a left turn on to CR 1038. Witnesses stated that a car headed south struck the bus on the left-hand, front side.

The bus driver sustained injuries in the collision. Eight children were also reportedly injured due to the wreck. The kids’ injuries were deemed minor in nature. The bus driver was taken to an area medical center via ambulance to receive medical treatment for their injuries. 

No one involved has been identified at this time as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident. The area of TX-359 where the crash took place was closed while responders worked at the scene. Drivers in the area were asked to use alternate routes.
