Corpus Christi, TX – Aida Marie Torres, 51, Loses Life in Fatal Crash on SH-285 near Falfurrias

Corpus Christi, TX (March 2, 2021) – One woman, identified as Aida Marie Torres, 51, has lost her life after her involvement in a fatal accident on a roadway in Corpus Christi. Police and emergency responders were dispatched to the scene shortly after it occurred in order to render aid to those involved. 

The accident took place on SH-285 near Falfurrias in Brooks County for reasons still under police investigation. It began with a Chevy Trax that was headed north on CR-401. The driver ran a stop sign and struck an F-350, causing its utility trailer to overturn and come to rest in the westbound lanes of 285. The F-350 was headed east at the time of the collision.

Torres was traveling in the westbound lanes of State Highway 285 when the Chevy Traverse she was a passenger in struck the overturned trailer of the F-350. The impact forced the Traverse to roll several times, according to officials. 

Upon the arrival of first responders at the crash site, they discovered that Aida Marie Torres had not survived the injuries she sustained in the crash. She was pronounced deceased by medical professionals at the scene of the accident.

The two occupants of the Chevy Trax were taken to Spohn Shoreline Hospital in Corpus Christi for the treatment of injuries they sustained in the wreck. Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash.
