Corpus Christi, TX – Man Killed in Train Accident at Hwy 77 & FM 2140

Corpus Christi, TX (March 19, 2021) – According to DPS officials, an 80-year-old man was pronounced dead after his pick-up truck collided with a train along Highway 77 and FM 2140 on Wednesday afternoon.

Sgt. Nathan Brandley said that the man was on a private driveway heading home when he was hit by the train around 2:30 p.m. The reason the crash took place is currently under local law enforcement investigation at this time, and no other information is currently available. It’s unclear if the man was pronounced dead at the scene or transported to an area medical center before he succumbed to his injuries.

Officials with the DPS have not released further details on the man’s identity.
