Corpus Christi, TX – Motorcyclist Killed by Drunk Driver on SPID Feeder Rd in Flour Bluff

Corpus Christi, TX (October 12, 2022) – A woman in Corpus Christi was charged with intoxication manslaughter after she collided with a motorcyclist while headed the wrong way on South Padre Island Drive. The motorcyclist lost their life in the collision, according to reports. 

Police in Corpus Christi were dispatched to the scene of the head-on crash that occurred in the eastbound lanes of the SPID feeder road near Waldron in Flour Bluff on the night of Sunday, October 9. 

Emergency crews were seen in the area at around 10:30 p.m. Police reported that Sarah Hoss, age 30, was headed in the wrong direction down the feeder road going toward Waldron when she drove through the intersection and struck the motorcyclist who was stopped at the red light. 

She did not try to brake before striking the biker. She kept driving and stopped about 860 feet from the crash site, reports read. The 54-year-old motorcyclist was identified as Eutimo “Tim” Barrera, a resident of Amarillo. He was rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. 

Barrera was living in Corpus Christi. Authorities continue to investigate the details of the incident.
