Corpus Christi, TX – UPDATE: Alexander Alvarado Killed in Pedestrian Crash on S Padre Island Dr

Corpus Christi, TX (July 7, 2021) – A fatal accident occurring on South Padre Island Drive resulted in one fatality, and officers have released the name of the man killed on Monday, July 5.

Officials with the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office have confirmed that 27-year-old Alexander Alvarado was killed early Monday morning as he was walking around 3:30 a.m. The accident happened westbound on South Padre Island Drive near the intersection with Carroll Lane. Alvarado was attempting to cross the highway in that area when a vehicle hit him. He was pronounced dead before he could be transported to an area medical center.

Lieutenant Paul Janko said that the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities, though the investigation is ongoing at this time.
