Fatal Truck Accidents in Texas

Cuero, TX - Driver Killed by Sleeping Truck Driver on Hwy 183 near Cooperative WayTexans experience a higher rate of truck accidents compared to other states, as shown by statistics. In 2017, Texas ranked first in the number of fatal truck accidents, with 556 incidents out of a total of 4,237 accidents in the country. These collisions resulted in 649 deaths. California, the state with the second-highest number of truck accidents, had 320 incidents and 361 deaths in 2017.

If you have lost a loved one in a fatal car accident, it is important to understand the process of filing a wrongful death claim. In Texas, the representative of the deceased party can file a claim if the at-fault party was responsible for their death. The goal of the claim is to prove negligence by the defendant.

Particularly if the accident was caused by a careless or irresponsible driver, the anguish, sadness, and emotional stress connected with the loss of a family member can be unbearable, and those who were close to the victim will likely also suffer. Families involved in wrongful death cases frequently experience significant financial losses, both now and in the future, necessitating the assistance of an experienced Texas wrongful death lawyer. Unfortunately, a lot of families don’t know they’re entitled to money after a relative passes away. The costs of the deceased’s medical care, burial, and lost future earnings are only a few of these losses. Families who have lost a loved one frequently are unsure of how to get the compensation they are due.
