Kerrville, TX – Young Girl Struck by Truck While Asleep in Bed Has Died

Kerrville, TX (August 24, 2020) – According to the Kerrville Medical Examiner’s office, an 8-year-old girl who was struck by a truck on August 7 while asleep in her bed at home has succumbed to her injuries and passed away. 

The accident happened on the night of August 7, when Arianna Guido, aged 8, was asleep in her bed at her home. A pick-up truck crashed through the wall of her bedroom, pinning her underneath the vehicle and causing life-threatening injuries. 

Authorities from the Kerrville Police department, the Kerr County Sheriff’s department, and the Kerrville Fire Department/Emergency Medical Services all responded to the call concerning the crash and worked to free the child from underneath the truck.

Guido was transported by Air Medical to Peterson Regional Medical Center in San Antonio for the treatment of critical injuries where she fought for her life for approximately 10 days. The young girl passed away at University Hospital in San Antonio on August 17. 

The crash took place just before 11:00 p.m. in the 500 block of Leland Street in Kerrville. Isaac Rodriguez Barboza, 23, was arrested and charged with intoxication assault with a vehicle causing serious bodily injury. There is no word on whether his charges have been updated due to the girl’s passing.
