Laredo, TX – El Santo Niño Crash Takes Life of Valerie Vasquez

Laredo, TX (August 30, 2020) – One woman has lost her life after being struck by a car in a neighborhood in southern Laredo this past Monday evening. 

The crash occurred at approximately 7:34 p.m. on August 24 at the intersection of San Salvador Street and South Canada Avenue for reasons still being investigated by local law enforcement officials. 

A woman, who has been identified as Valerie Vasquez, 50, was struck by a white Chevy Malibu being driven by a 17-year-old male who remains unidentified at this time. 

Upon arrival at the scene of the crash, police requested assistance from the Laredo Fire Department crews in order to render emergency medical aid to the injured woman. She was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision by medical professionals.

The teenage driver had two children in the vehicle with him at the time of the accident. None of them were injured in the wreck. 

No further information has been provided at this time. 

An investigation into the circumstances of the wreck will be carried out by local police.
