Car Accidents in Texas
One of the top three states in the nation for the number of annual car accidents is Texas. The Lone Star State experiences more than 400,000 car collisions annually on average. Each year, these accidents cause thousands of injuries and fatalities. Nearly 4,000 individuals die, and over 17,000 people are injured in these accidents annually on average.
There are numerous causes of car accidents in Texas, where poor road conditions, malfunctioning or improperly maintained automobiles, and driver recklessness are all common causes of auto crashes. Distracted driving is currently the main reason for collisions in the Lone Star state, and in the US, distracted driving is the form of driver irresponsibility that results in the most injuries and fatalities.
In the US, driver carelessness has become a significant issue. According to the National Safety Council, over 38,000 people died, and 4.4 million were wounded in road accidents in 2015. The biggest percentage rise in the last 50 years is represented by the 9% increase from the prior year.
According to a survey conducted by the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety, more than 94% of crashes in the US are the result of driver error, and over 87% of drivers exhibit risky driving habits. This indicates that millions of individuals suffer injuries every year as a result of driver error or neglect.
