Refugio County, TX – Diana Carrazel Loses Life in Fatal Crash on US-77

Refugio County, TX (January 16. 2021)  – One woman has lost her life after her involvement in a car accident that took place just north of Refugio County this past Friday, January 15. The crash occurred on US-77 at approximately 10:34 p.m. 

Sources indicate that the collision took place between a 2007 Ford F-150 and a 2011 Ford F-150 that were both headed south on US-77. The two vehicles were involved in an accident that sent the 2007 Ford off the roadway where it overturned. 

The 2007 Ford’s driver was ejected from the vehicle during the crash. She was identified as Diana Carrazel, 53, of Pharr. She was pronounced deceased at the scene by medical professionals. 

A male passenger present in Carrazel’s vehicle at the time of the collision required a life flight to a medical center in Corpus Christi for the treatment of serious injuries. The other driver involved was not hurt in the accident.

The wreck is currently under investigation by DPS.
