San Antonio, TX – 14-Year-Old Struck by Car on South Side

San Antonio, TX (January 01, 2021) – Police were called to the scene of a New Year’s Eve celebration on the south side of San Antonio on Thursday, December 31st when a 14-year-old girl was struck by a car.

Police statements reveal that her family managed to chase down the driver before they even arrived.  

At about 12:00 a.m., local law enforcement officers were dispatched to a home on the south side after a young girl was hit by a car as she rode her scooter. The driver then fled the scene.

Several of the girl’s family members pursued the suspect and held him until the police reported to the crash site.  

The girl was transported via ambulance to a local medical facility and is currently in stable condition. 

Police reported that the man was mildly injured during the incident. He will be facing charges of driving while intoxicated and failure to stop and render aid.
