San Antonio, TX – Child Critically Injured in Collision on Basse Rd near Buckeye Ave

San Antonio, TX (August 14, 2023) – A child was hospitalized with critical injuries after a driver’s brakes malfunctioned and caused a multi-car accident, according to information from the San Antonio police department. 

The accident occurred just before 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13. Responders went to Basse Road near Buckeye Avenue to help those involved in the crash. Police report a truck ran a stop sign due to a brake malfunction and struck an SUV at the intersection, forcing it to spin out and strike an eastbound Honda CRV. 

Three individuals were taken to University Hospital due to the collision, including a child with very serious injuries. The age of the child is not known at this time. 

Police in San Antonio continue to investigate. We hope for the full and fast recovery of those with injuries.
