San Antonio, TX – Cyclist Critically Injured in Crash on Jones Maltsberger Rd
San Antonio, TX (December 30, 2024) – A cyclist sustained life-threatening injuries in a crash on Friday afternoon, December 27, in the 13600 block of Jones Maltsberger Road. The incident occurred around 1:20 p.m.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, a 39-year-old man was riding his bicycle eastbound on the sidewalk before crossing from the north to the south side of the road. Preliminary investigations indicate that the cyclist entered the roadway and was struck by a gray 2025 Nissan Altima traveling westbound on Jones Maltsberger Road.
The cyclist collided with the passenger side of the vehicle and was thrown from his bike upon impact. Emergency medical responders quickly transported him to a nearby hospital, where he underwent surgery. He remains in critical condition.
