San Antonio, TX – Officer Struck by Car at Hwy 281 and Brook Hollow

San Antonio, TX (February 18, 2021) – An officer with the San Antonio Police Department officer hospitalized on Sunday, February 14th after he was hit by a car at about 4:00 a.m.

A two-year veteran officer was on foot wearing a reflective vest as he investigated a car accident at Brook Hollow and Highway 281. As he was redirecting traffic, he was struck by a vehicle not involved in the original accident.

According to police, the driver who struck the officer was determined to not have been impaired, but he was issued citations for no insurance and having an invalid license.

Speed and unfavorable road conditions are both thought to have played a role in this accident.

The officer suffered critical injuries and was transported via ambulance to University Hospital.

Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
