San Antonio, TX – Pedestrian Crash at Villaret Blvd & Poteet Jourdanton Fwy

San Antonio, TX (July 18, 2020) – A pedestrian collision took place at an intersection in San Antonio this past Thursday that injured one individual.

At approximately 10:35 p.m. Thursday night, Local authorities were called to the scene of the crash that happened at the intersection of Villaret Boulevard and Poteet Jourdanton Freeway.

The 40-year-old male driver who struck the pedestrian stated that he came upon a red light at Villaret Boulevard while traveling north on the freeway. He attempted to stop as a pedestrian was crossing the street at the same time. He was, unfortunately, unable to stop due to faulty breaks and struck the pedestrian. He then drove onto the cement median and finally came to a full stop.

The injured pedestrian, only identified as a man in his 20s, was lying in the roadway when police arrived with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver did not leave the scene of the crash and rendered aid to the injured victim until the police got there. No charges are expected to be filed against the driver.

The injured victim was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of his injuries.

No other injuries were reported to have resulted from the crash, and no further information is available at this time.
