San Antonio, TX – Police Officer Struck by Car on Highway 281

San Antonio, TX (November 27, 2020) – A female police officer along with a male civilian were both hospitalized after their involvement in a traffic accident that took place on a highway in San Antonio. 

At approximately 7:40 a.m. on November 27, on Highway 281 near the Josephine Street entrance ramp, just north of downtown, the female police officer, whose name has not been released, was struck by a vehicle while attending to another car crash.

She was standing outside her patrol car at the time of the collision. According to the crash report, a Buick lost control and slid sideways as she and other officers were working at another minor crash site nearby.

Police are unsure which vehicle struck the officer, as the Buick struck another car while it slid across the highway. 

The female police officer suffered injuries to her legs and was transported to Metropolitan Methodist Hospital for treatment. 

Her current health condition has not been reported. 

The man driving the Buick required extrication from his vehicle by fire crews. He suffered head injuries and was also transported to a nearby medical center for treatment. His current health condition has also not been reported, nor has his identity.

No other information has been released at this time concerning the crash or its circumstances.
