San Antonio, TX – Police Officer Travis Gossett Hit by Car on Hwy 281 near Brook Hollow Blvd

San Antonio, TX (February 15, 2021) –  An officer with the San Antonio Police Department is in the hospital in critical condition after he was struck by a car while working at the scene of an accident. The collision occurred on the north side of San Antonio in the early morning hours of Sunday, February 14. 

According to reports, Officer Travis Gossett was hit on Highway 281 near Brook Hollow Boulevard. He was responding to a major car accident on the highway. 

Gossett was on foot at the time of the crash. He was in the process of directing traffic in the main lanes of the highway when he was hit by a vehicle that was not involved in the incident he was tending to.

It is believed by police that the driver who struck Gossett failed to control their speed which led to the accident that left him with severe injuries. Gossett is in critical condition at a hospital in San Antonio.
