San Antonio, TX – Tanya Hernandez Killed, Three Children Hurt in Crash on I-10

San Antonio, TX (January 30, 2023) – Police in San Antonio are currently investigating a fatal traffic accident that claimed the life of one person and injured three children. The accident happened on the Northwest Side on Sunday afternoon, January 29. 

The deceased victim was identified as Tanya Hernandez, 37. She was headed west on I-10 in her Chevy Tahoe when she was cut off by a motorcycle traveling at unsafe speeds. She attempted to avoid hitting the motorcyclist and lost control of her car. 

Hernandez struck the guard rail on the left, crossed the grassy median, and struck a support beam. She was pronounced deceased on-site by paramedics. Three passengers, ages 10-15, were transported to an area hospital with life-threatening injuries. 

Police continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
