San Antonio, TX – Three-Vehicle Injury Crash with 18-Wheeler on I-35

San Antonio, TX (August 30, 2023) – A flat tire caused a three-car accident on an interstate in San Antonio on the Southwest Side. 

Information provided by authorities shows the incident occurred when a vehicle was heading south on Interstate 35 when it got a flat tire. The driver became stuck in the middle lane of the roadway near Palo Alto Road due to riding on a rim. 

A vehicle collided with that car, and then an 18-wheeler collided with one of those vehicles, sending it careening into the center median. The driver of that vehicle became entrapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by fire crews. 

The southbound lanes between South Zarszamorea Street and Palo Alto Road were closed due to the incident for some time.  Paramedics and police rendered aid at the scene, causing significant delays in traffic. 

Authorities continue to investigate the details of the crash.
