San Antonio, TX – Two Hospitalized Following Rollover Crash on Hwy 281 Near Bitters RdTexas Accident News
San Antonio, TX (July 12, 2021) – Two people, one of whom was a 17-year-old driver, were hospitalized after a rollover accident on Highway 281 on Monday, July 12th.
The crash took place at about 3:00 a.m. in the 13600 block of U.S. Highway 281 North, in the area of Bitters Road.
Reports show that the 17-year-old driver and a passenger were heading southbound along Highway 281 in a Hyundai Sonata when, for reasons that have yet to be determined, the vehicle left the roadway just north of the Bitters Road overpass.
The teenager drove into the grassy median separating the access road from the highway, barely missing a hanging sign. The car then went off the edge of an embankment and overturned.
Both vehicle occupants were taken to an area hospital by EMS in stable condition.
Our thoughts are with the injured victim and their family at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
Car Accidents in San Antonio
Official traffic collision reports filed by the state of Texas in 2017 and 2018 underscored the fact that 1.29 crash-related deaths per one hundred million resident miles driven. Despite the fact that this figure indicates a 5.15% decline from 2017, it also shows that there was not even a single day during those years where at least one person was not killed on a Texas roadway.
