San Antonio, TX – Two Workers Hurt in Accident on Loop 1604
San Antonio, TX (May 13, 2024) – A construction site accident reported in the San Antonio area on Friday morning sent to construction workers to area hospitals with injuries. The incident occurred at around 12:30 a.m. on May 10.
According to local news sources, a construction crew was working in the area near the interstate Highway 10 and Loop 1604 interchange during the early morning hours. The workers were utilizing a cherry picker basket, which was positioned several feet above the ground while connecting beings to concrete pillars on the bridge. For unknown reasons, one of the chains on the equipment broke, causing the beam to fall down onto the cherry picker. The two workers were then trapped inside the basket of the cherry picker. Firefighters responded to the scene to extricate the victims. Both of the workers were seriously injured and transported to area hospitals for emergency care. The incident is being investigated.
