At The Law Office of Joe Brad Brock, we handle personal injury cases on a contingency fee basis. You pay no upfront attorney fees, and we only collect an attorney fee if we recover compensation for you through a settlement or verdict.
You may have a personal injury case if you were injured because of another person’s or company’s negligence. We evaluate how the accident happened, who may be responsible, the extent of your injuries, available evidence, and the damages you have suffered to determine your legal options.
Every personal injury case is different. Some claims may settle within a few months, while cases involving serious injuries, disputed liability, multiple parties, or litigation can take much longer. Our goal is not simply to settle quickly, but to pursue the compensation your case deserves.
Not necessarily. Many personal injury cases are resolved through negotiations with the insurance company without going to trial. However, if the insurance company refuses to offer fair compensation, we are prepared to pursue your case through litigation and take it to court when necessary.
You should understand the full value of your personal injury claim before accepting a settlement. An early offer may not account for future medical treatment, lost income, long-term injuries, or other damages. Once you accept a settlement and sign a release, you generally cannot return later for additional compensation.
Being partially at fault does not automatically prevent you from recovering compensation in Texas. Under Texas proportionate responsibility law, you may generally recover damages if you are 50% or less responsible, but your compensation can be reduced by your percentage of fault. We can review the evidence and determine how shared fault may affect your claim.
A workplace injury can involve several types of claims depending on how the accident happened and whether your employer carries Texas workers’ compensation insurance. You may also have a claim against a negligent contractor, property owner, equipment manufacturer, driver, or another third party.
