According to reports from the Corpus Christi Police Department, multiple vehicles collided in the 9600 block of Texas State Highway 361. The incident blocked several lanes of the road, prompting the closure of the southbound side of the highway. Authorities determined that a vehicle was heading south on the highway when it collided with a second vehicle, which was heading northbound. The impact of the crash caused one vehicle to go off the roadway and flip over. The first car continued southbound and collided with a third vehicle. One person was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the scene. Five additional victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
