The accident took place at about 9:00 a.m. and kept both lanes of traffic on Broadway in the area of Loop 410 closed off until about 12:00 p.m. when officers finally cleared the scene.
Officers that responded to the scene confirmed that one victim was dead and another victim was transported via ambulance to an area hospital.
The deceased victim has since been identified as 27-year-old Matthew David Krupa, who had just started working for the North East Independent School District police department the day before. 27. He was on his way to his second day of work when the accident happened.
