Reports show that a family was gathered at the corner of Shane Road and Villamain Road for a gathering to pay respects to family members who lost their lives at the same location a few years ago. While at the corner, a vehicle traveling through the area ran over the lower extremities of two children, ages 11 and 9, before striking a woman. The three victims were transported to area hospitals for emergency medical care. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
Our thoughts go out to the injured victims and their families at this time.
Car Accidents in Texas
Every year, hundreds of thousands of vehicle collisions occur on Texas roadways. One of the key factors contributing to these accidents is the variety of vehicles sharing the roads. Texas highways are filled with cars, trucks, and motorcycles, making accidents a common occurrence. Unfortunately, certain behaviors increase the chances of these accidents happening.
One of the most frequent causes of motor vehicle accidents is distractions. Drivers often take their eyes off the road to adjust the radio, send a text, or even eat while driving. These distractions can have serious consequences, as even a few seconds of inattention can result in a collision. Speeding is another major factor, particularly on the state’s wide-open highways, that tempt drivers to push their limits. Additionally, accidents are often caused by drunk driving, failing to yield, and tailgating, all of which increase the risk of serious crashes.
If you are involved in a car accident in Texas, one of the first things you should do is seek medical attention. Even if you feel fine right after the crash, some injuries may not be immediately noticeable. It is important to get checked by a healthcare professional to ensure that you are not unknowingly injured. Receiving medical treatment promptly not only helps safeguard your health but also provides necessary documentation of any injuries sustained in the accident. This documentation will be critical when filing insurance claims or pursuing legal action against the person responsible for the crash.
Delaying medical treatment can worsen your condition and make recovery more difficult. It is also essential to seek legal advice from a San Antonio pedestrian accident lawyer as soon as possible. By filing a personal injury lawsuit, you may be able to seek compensation from the person who caused the accident. This can help cover your medical expenses, vehicle repairs, and other damages related to the crash.
